It is with great sadness that we inform the community that Senior Member and lifelong friend of all of here at the department, Don Stiffler, passed away yesterday, Monday, November 27, 2017. Don was a member of the department since 1993.

At our monthly meeting on September 11, 2017, Mike Moore officially retired from the department. He was the Water Rescue Captain as well as an active firefighter. We thank Mike for 25 years of service with us.
FEMA awarded us with a $257,140 grant that will be used to buy and outfit an attack truck. Thanks goes to our township supervisors for their support. Stay tuned for pictures and information about the new truck!

On July 28th, Waterford VFD will be hosting their 80th annual parade. The parade will start at 7:00pm. Come on out and see our Rescue and Squad all cleaned up!

The City of Latrobe will be hosting a Fourth of July parade again this year. The parade begins at 10:30am. Be sure to come out and see our entire fleet all shined up and being shown off!!!

Saturday, May 13th, 2017
Today, crews from 71 and 132 were at Westinghouse assisting with a controlled burn. They were burning an old machine as a training exercise for the Westinghouse Fire Brigade. Fire department crews assisted with surpression.
On May 7th, Keystone State Park hosted a Youth and Family outdoor show. Water Rescue team 175 (Stations 71, 77, and 114) demonstrated water Rescue operations in the lake for the crowd.
This morning, the rescue and squad, along with rescue 41, did traffic control for the "5k Scrambled Legs" race hosted by the Derry Middle School Physical Education Department.

The Bradenville VFD was at the Derry Middle School Career day on May 4th. Representing the department was Chief Mark Piantine, Captian Anthony Tommasini, Firefighter Tim Hill Jr., and Probationary Firefighter Dale Hillis.

Today, we hosted and easter egg hunt at our training field up the road from the station. Just like every year, it went off without a hitch and everybody had a great time, us included! We love to get to know members of the community we serve.

At 6:00pm today, the Cub Scouts troop 352 came to the station to tour the trucks. Right off the bat, they got to see us go in action when we were activated for a kitchen fire. However, they waited for us to come back and they got a lesson on the trucks and how they work.

The Derry Township Ag Fair is hosting a gun bash on April 29, 2017. It will be taking place at Marian Hall in Crabtree. Doors open at 5:15, and the first drawing is at 6:15, with drawings every half hour until 9:00.

As the doors opened at St. Mary's Dome in Bradenville, A sell out crowd was treated to a good time, good food, and all for a good cause. Derry Township Volunteer Fire Department Co. 1 of Bradenville hosted the 13th Annual Cash Bash.
